And our heater seems to be broken. :/

The fan in the heat/ac unit has just been running basically non-stop for a day or so. I foolishly assumed that Alex had maybe set it to do so on purpose, or thought I was just failing to notice it shutting off, since it's in the "other room" - the far side of the studio apartment.

Last night it was 68 in the apartment when the snow started. I waffled on whether I should turn the heat back on or not, and ultimately didn't, because it wasn't too bad, and we were going to sleep anyway.

This morning when I got up it was 62 and I was cold, so I switched the heat on... and nothing happened. The fan just kept blowing chilly room-temp air.

Alex messed with it during the day and said he sort of fixed it, and got it to warm up to 69 [nice], though setting the thermostat to 70+ would turn the heat *off* and keep the fan on. Had to flip the breaker to get the fan to turn off the first time.

But by the time I was home from work, it was doing the same thing as earlier - yes room-temp fan, no heat. The unit has an "auxiliary heat" function to warm up quickly, and that seems to work... for now.

Frustrating, because we'll have to have someone come look at it. But Alex has piles of boxes on the wall in front of the thermostat, and after their snarly "your laundry being in a plastic bag signifies the apartment is full of trash" from last year, he doesn't want anyone to come into the apartment. And if we do have someone come in to look at it, there's no good place to put all the stuff he has against that wall. Which is why it lives against that wall. :/
