Miscellany

- Stupid underarm lymph node is finally starting to calm down. Still hurts, but requires more direct pressure to suck too badly.

- The strike at the local grocery chain is tentatively over! Hooray! The new agreement between the company and the union will have to be ratified on Monday, but I'm relieved they seem to have gotten what they wanted. (And am happy that the strike was very well-supported.)

- My mom handed in her notice of retirement yesterday at the end of the day, and the company announced it today. I know that she actually left due to deep dissatisfaction with a lot of things, but her notice was very positive. I'm so happy for her! I know this is about six or eight months before she'd originally planned on retiring, but she deserves it!
Though now I have a bit of like... I don't want her to leave. ;_; Not work, I mean that I don't want her to move away! I know her plan is to ultimately buy a house down in the mountains in New Mexico. It's a beautiful area, and definitely her favorite place, and I want her to get to be there. But I also am going to miss her when she moves. ;_;

- This has felt like kind of a wasted week. I had a lot of stuff I'd intended to get done, and... very little of it has happened. I lost some time due to the booster crud, but it's always frustrating to feel like there's a lot of stuff not completed.

Good to hear the strike worked out.

Hope you're feeling better soon! Feeling like crud sucks.

I'm so glad your mom got to retire! And even though she wants to move - and of course, you want her to be where she's happy - you won't be that far away from her to go visit since Colorado is right there above NM. NM is really pretty and I wish that I enjoyed being in the mountains more because there was a lot to do there. At least, she'll be close and you can plan some of your vacation times to go visit once she does move. Is your sibling going with her or staying there?

Catching up on posts/Dreamwidth a bit, but glad to hear it sounds like the booster shot's effects are waning! I genuinely hope you'll be feeling 100% quite soon otherwise!

Heard about the strike's abrupt end as well, although I'm not sure what the ultimate agreement(s) were admittedly. I certainly hope the union achieved all their goals though.

Major. major congratulations to your mom!!! That's freaking awesome, exciting news and I hope she finds the perfect mountain home for that matter. Thankfully New Mexico isn't too bad a drive down I-25 - might be a great excuse to take time off and visit frequently anyhow?
