Miscellany
- Stupid underarm lymph node is finally starting to calm down. Still hurts, but requires more direct pressure to suck too badly.
- The strike at the local grocery chain is tentatively over! Hooray! The new agreement between the company and the union will have to be ratified on Monday, but I'm relieved they seem to have gotten what they wanted. (And am happy that the strike was very well-supported.)
- My mom handed in her notice of retirement yesterday at the end of the day, and the company announced it today. I know that she actually left due to deep dissatisfaction with a lot of things, but her notice was very positive. I'm so happy for her! I know this is about six or eight months before she'd originally planned on retiring, but she deserves it!
Though now I have a bit of like... I don't want her to leave. ;_; Not work, I mean that I don't want her to move away! I know her plan is to ultimately buy a house down in the mountains in New Mexico. It's a beautiful area, and definitely her favorite place, and I want her to get to be there. But I also am going to miss her when she moves. ;_;
- This has felt like kind of a wasted week. I had a lot of stuff I'd intended to get done, and... very little of it has happened. I lost some time due to the booster crud, but it's always frustrating to feel like there's a lot of stuff not completed.

Hope you're feeling better soon! Feeling like crud sucks.

Heard about the strike's abrupt end as well, although I'm not sure what the ultimate agreement(s) were admittedly. I certainly hope the union achieved all their goals though.
Major. major congratulations to your mom!!! That's freaking awesome, exciting news and I hope she finds the perfect mountain home for that matter. Thankfully New Mexico isn't too bad a drive down I-25 - might be a great excuse to take time off and visit frequently anyhow?

Ugh, general crud is the worst. At least it's not actual sick.

I honestly don't know what Taylor's plans are. I don't think their plan is to move with her, as my mom definitely plans to be somewhere that would be out of easy commute range for a job. But I'm not sure what their plans *are.* If they plan to stay nearby and rent an apartment, or move in with friends, or what.
I know that anyone moving isn't going to be IMMEDIATE or anything, but I think my mom is probably already thinking toward it being soon.

It was pretty abrupt! I think they said that they'll make the details of the agreement public once it's ratified by the union, which should happen on Monday. (And I sincerely hope that nothing prevents that from happening, but it sounds like it should be good.)
Thank you! I'm very happy for her! It's true - NM isn't too far for a visit, and it's a good excuse to drive down to some areas that I really miss visiting! Used to go there almost every summer, ha.
