I hate when I realize that I set unrealistic expectations for something, ha.
Camp NaNo has been going pretty well this month - I set a goal of 25k, because 1000 words/day sounded a bit daunting after I was making pretty slow progress recently. (Even though I know rewrites go faster for me.)
But with only one exception, I've hit over 1000 words every day! So I'm pretty happy with that. My 30k "stretch goal" is basically guaranteed, which is great! I'll likely wind up with even more written by the end of the month.
Yet at the same time... I'm now only partially through chapter 7... of 17. I definitely want this fic done by the end of August, but was honestly hoping to have it done by about halfway through August. Though even with the 1000+ words/day, that's not enough! I'm going to have to get a lot more done per day!
So I'm in the unfortunate spot of simultaneously making faster progress than I'd thought I would... and also not getting as far as I'd hoped. Oops.
I'll try to ramp it up a little bit, and aim for closer to 1500 or 2000 per day, and see if that's doable. I've still been struggling with time, feeling like I just don't have enough of it, but I'll keep trying to trim down my other stuff between work and when I start writing, to see if I can eke out a bit more writing time.
