Fuck this shit

Another work day that makes me want to rip a throat out. Not anyone specific, just... in general. I feel like tearing a throat out with my teeth would be cathartic.

First class close with the new procedures. I expected it would go fairly well, since the instructor is reasonably experienced and usually pretty good...

Ha.

Haha.

As usual, the specifics would be boring and meaningless, because it's mainly stupid little rule-following stuff, but it's also extremely *important.* Like... "state shuts us down because we fucked up the compliance stuff again" important.

I tried to do like... 90% of the paperwork shit for the instructor, but gave him ONE "hey, you had this student fill this out incorrectly; have them correct it" record to get fixed. Aaaaaaand he didn't collect it after the correction. So the student went home with it. But the instructor still submitted our documentation anyway, which is ~fraud~! We can't certify paperwork that WE DON'T HAVE!
But I'm the one who has to now try and frantically track the paperwork down and beg them to bring it back to us! (Mom says she can't come back before Tuesday, because she's flying out of state tomorrow morning, so gosh I hope she remembers! Even if she does, it'll be missing the instructor signatures.) And I KNOW my manager is going be pissed at me for it, even though it's ultimately the instructor's responsibility to collect those.

The day was full of garbage like that. I'm still supposed to be doing the general inbox responses for Saturday, but I couldn't, because every email came back bounced saying I don't have permission to respond on behalf of the general address. I got no response to help tickets or to direct emails to the field director, so.

I was there an hour and a half later than I was supposed to be, and I don't even get paid for the overtime this week, because I did the ~responsible~ thing and took PTO for my dental appointment instead of just leaving early, and the PTO counts against my 40 hour threshold. But that's basically 4 hours of PTO completely wasted, because I STILL hit 39 hours of actual work time, but 4 hours PTO is the minimum we're allowed to take at a time.

I'm extremely cranky and not fit company in any sense. And I don't WANT to be cranky, because again: I already spent nine and a half hours miserable about work bullshit today, and it's not fair for it to ruin my evening too.

But I have to be there early tomorrow for a class open (because they gave us NO turnaround between series this time).

I like to say I don't hate my job, but I've really hated the last several weeks, and I'm so frustrated that it just feels like nothing is getting better. All the new policies require so many frustrating new things.
"Here's a completely new filing system that you need to utilize, and you're responsible for managing that.
You now have to pull records prior to each class - expect this to take fifteen minutes or so.
You need to check class rosters for upcoming classes daily to request records from other centers as early as possible - expect this to take ten or fifteen minutes each day.
For starting classes, we now want you to print stickers with student info for them to put on their materials, but the template doesn't work, so you need to copy each student's info individually into the actually functional template - this takes fifteen minutes or so.
Because there's documentation that is now required at the start, it's your responsibility to ensure the students have it, so you need to email and call anyone missing it days in advance - this takes five or more minutes per student.
It's up to you to ensure that the records are complete and refiled properly after the class is finished (which is after you're supposed to be gone for the day) so please arrange to stay late in order to ensure this is complete. (No you can't come in late, because you need to be here before the students arrive!)"

I KNOW it's to stay compliant with state requirements, and I'm fine with that! Record management and documentation and things is actually the type of thing I'm good at, and would even say I enjoy. But just like with the fucking voicemail project, the time it takes to do all of this isn't coming out of anywhere else. Sure each task is "only" fifteen minutes or so per day, and not all those things have to happen every single day, but some days it *can* be hours more work, and it definitely adds up over a week. I don't have LESS to do anywhere else, it's just YET AGAIN telling us that hey, you need to do more more more and not let it impact anything else you do, and in fact you should be answering more calls and making more sales and returning more voicemails and responding to emails faster and filling out a spreadsheet for every fucking one for "accountability" so that each of those calls takes another minute and a half because you had to document the results and hey, you should be checking the schedule at least three days ahead for requesting purposes and to head off any issues and yeah we have remote people booking stuff but if they fucked up you need to catch the mistake so you can fix it!

I'm frustrated and unhappy.
