See, the problem with "taking a little break" from any given thing, for me, is that it makes it SO DAUNTINGLY HARD to get back to it.

(I say about... posting on DW, commenting on DW, writing fic, reading, habit tracking, flossing...)

I've read that it's a common ADHD problem, where you can keep something as a daily habit for weeks or months (even years!) and one thing derailing it, even for only a day or two, can utterly wipe the habit itself out, like you'd never built it up in the first place.

Granted, I don't have that many habits that are so well-established. (And have even sometimes broken them on purpose, like DW posting, to prove to myself that breaking it once isn't a forever obstacle.)

Still, the struggle of going back to something after skipping it, even if I only skip it once, is certainly a problem for me, and while I'm trying to be better about recognizing that, and making the conscious effort to then re-establish those things, it still hits me pretty frequently.
