So frustrating! DRM is a garbage thing in general, and I hate that it's causing me problems *years* later! (Insult to injury that it's only a problem because I was trying to do it the "right way.") It's my fault in that I don't remember the passwords to my old accounts, but 20 years down the line, I feel like that's an understandable error at the very least! I do feel like the fact that I *did* buy legal copies makes it feel less bad about however I choose to get replacements. For the more mainstream stuff I'll probably look for used CDs that I can rip, which will likely be reasonably cheap for most of them. For the more obscure stuff (random weird singles and such) I'll probably have to go with whatever I can to find them. Ripping from youtube videos is a whack-a-mole of finding functional sites for it, but can help for stuff that's hard to find any other way. (But if I have to buy from iTunes AGAIN, I'll be pissed, even if they don't have DRM on their files anymore.)
