Habit Tracking: Week 28 (July 07 - July 13)

From the same dog toy subscription box as the Mothman I cut out back in April... a Fresno Nightcrawler!

This week gets a resounding... "eeeh" from me. The week started off well enough, with me visiting and hanging out with Taylor. We had fun! My mom was heading off to New Mexico for a long stretch taking care of her mom, so it was nice to see her before she left, too. I started the week with a big mood crash regarding writing and creative stuff, and it never really recovered. Work was really long and stressful, and while nothing bad happened, it felt relentless and like no matter how much I did I just fell farther behind. Then on Saturday the political landscape took a very hearty dump into "even more massively fucked" territory, and I don't even know how to handle that. (Plus the stress of my impending jury duty was weighing on me, and while that's now been discharged, it wasn't helping with the week!)

Goals for the week:

  • I did work on my idea inventory, if only briefly
  • I still haven't set up the phone
  • I did read some more of The Name of the Wind
  • I did water the plants
  • I sent money for the pickups that a friend was doing at BreyerFest for us
  • I went and hung out with Taylor Sunday night - Tuesday morning
  • I did... some of my writethisfanfic check-ins! I felt terrible because I'd volunteered, but then completely forgot while I was at Taylor's. It sort of worked out, because the mod hadn't gotten my comment volunteering either, so basically no one remembered I was supposed to be doing it!
  • We bought the online things Alex wanted from BreyerFest
  • I called about my jury duty, and confirmed that I did need to report

Tracked habits:

  • Work - 5/7
  • Household Maintenance - 4/7
  • Physical Activity - 0/7
  • Wrote 500/1000+ Words - 0/7
  • Wrote on 2nd+ Draft - 0/7
  • Meta Work - 5/7
  • Personal Writing - 3/7
  • Other Creative Things - 1/7
  • Reading - 4/7 - Taylor and I finished reading the novella at the end of Backpacking Through Bedlam and then started reading Sleep No More, because they'd only gotten about halfway through when they got distracted from it. I read more of The Name of the Wind, as well as a little of that same ebook that I just can't seem to finish.
  • Attention to Media - 7/7 - Sunday I listened to music after Taylor went to bed; Monday Taylor and I watched Jenny Nicholson's video about the failures of Evermore park; Tuesday Alex and I went to see The Quiet Place: Day One which I enjoyed, then later watched The Stranger in the Woods which was a meh horror movie; Wednesday we watched the inconsistent-quality thriller On-Site, then Five Nights at Freddy's since it was streaming and wouldn't be providing any direct money, which was also inconsistent in quality (a few things were good, many were just... confusing, in the "why is this in here" way); Thursday we half-watched Water, which was just as bad as the imdb reviews warned us, then Incarnation which had a solid B-list cast and nothing else going for it; Friday we watched an episode of Alone and Alone: Australia, though my attention was wavering; Saturday Alex was watching a movie, but I fell asleep.
  • Video Games - 3/7 - Playing more Final Fantasy XIV with Taylor. They've been very tied up in the new expansion, Dawnstar, but for their replay with me, we just started Stormblood. We have made it through part 1, making it to fantasy!Japan. We also did part 1 of the Red Mage class quest.
  • Social Interaction - 7/7
