Birfday, woo!

It was a nice day. :) Alex had a ride, but went early. I finished Taste of Marrow which was quite fun, and then went to pat some horses.

After that we did have to hit the grocery store, since the dog probably wanted to eat. (Needy animal, lol, needing "food".) I bought a couple cute stuffed animals, because I am an Adult. Also, squishmallows are so damn soft. Also also, I remember they got some mild wanky backlash online last year for having one of their stuffed animals canonically use they/them pronouns. (Each of the toys has a tag with a name and bio about the animal.) I was happy to find out that they doubled down and just made more with they/them pronouns, haha.

I talked to my dad on the phone for a bit, which was nice. He gets his second Covid shot on Tuesday.

We ordered carry out from Olive Garden, because I unearthed a gift card, and that was tasty. (And cheap, thanks to the gift card, lol.)

Then we went over to my mom's. I did get to go inside for a bit (though masked!). She and Taylor both got me most of the books that were on my wishlist, so my TBR pile just got even longer. Taylor also gave me a bunch of multitool pen things, because I always play with theirs when I'm over there, lol. (It's just a cheap pen, but it has a level and a stylus and a ruler and a screwdriver in it, and gadgety things like that are so fun to mess with.)

Then they helped haul sandbags into the back of the truck in case we DO have to go out in the snow.

The totals for that are holding steady, and even going up a bit, as it apparently looks like the storm is going to be slower, meaning more snow over the area as it just kind of camps out and doesn't move. The official warning is for somewhere 1-3 feet, though up to 4 just west of us.
Unsurprisingly, my company is still refusing to make any decisions about the weekend, despite apparently meeting repeatedly about it. As it stands, I'm expected to go in on Sat/Sun, despite CDOT and the governor both telling people to not travel unless it's an emergency. We'll keep waiting around to see!

I am real tired. (And I'm old now, so I guess that's allowed, lol)
