I wanted to try and sort out my writing calendar/goals for the month, but instead I am very sleepy.
Today was not a great day at work - one instructor called out, and then our lead got a call that his father was going to the hospital, so he had to go. Did badly in terms of trying to get caught up on anything, despite feeling like I was constantly busy.

Fire update:
The Alexander Mountain fire (the big one up north that started on Monday) is up to 8134 acres, with 5% containment. At least two dozen structures damaged or destroyed.
Stone Canyon (the one that started on Tuesday) is up to 1553 acres, with 30% containment. As far as I know, still five homes destroyed and one fatality.
Lake Shore (the one from later yesterday) is at 7 acres, but considered contained.
The Quarry fire (the one that started late Tuesday night, the one closer to my office) is up to 450 acres with 0% containment. It's mostly grown into open space land, away from structures.
All in 98° weather today. Wind picked up just a little bit ago, and I'm hoping that doesn't make things worse overnight.
The smoke is pretty atrocious, and my lungs and throat are definitely feeling it.

So many fires! I bet the smoke is horrid. I hope you manage to stay safe otherwise.

The smoke is awful. Thank you - definitely hoping all of these get under control soon.
