October 18 - Denver Zoo (Part 2)
Zoo part two!

Festive Halloween decorations continued!

Loved this boa. :)

Clouded leopard! I was glad to get a pretty good view of this guy! Usually he's napping.

And the tiger, prowling overhead.

Sea lion yelling! We watched this guy for quite a while - he had lots to say.

Festive frogs! It's not the BEST picture, but I liked that you can see several of both the blue and green frogs, plus their Halloween decor.

A pair of cuddling snakes. So little and cute!

Lake Titicaca frog! I love how weird these guys look. This one was much more brown as opposed to the greyer color of most of them. (And I appreciate that the Denver Zoo is doing conservation work for these guys.)
This was about where we realized that oh crap, it was just about 5:00, which is ostensibly closing time, so we hustled through the rest on the way to the exit. (Missed seeing the giraffes entirely, which was a shame. I love them.)

The hyenas were running around playing! The one up on the rock was trying to goad the one to the left into a game of chase, with mixed results.

And a very brief view of the penguins! This is their new habitat, which has been under construction for a while, and just opened this fall. (Last trip in June, we saw them in their temporary quarters in the hippo building.) I think they were crowding around the food door, here. ;) It looks like a nice setup for them!
I think we will have to loop around the other direction next time, or actually plan enough ahead to get an earlier ticket time! I would have thought five hours would be enough, but we took our time and got to watch a lot of the animals being active, which was absolutely worth it!
