Definitely lacking in motivation...
Didn't write anything yesterday (Taylor and I were up until after midnight as it was), which is fine. I'm still planning to post the first chapter of Island Territory tomorrow, and the second draft is done.
Part of me would love to be able to finish the whole thing by Halloween, since it's a seasonally appropriate story, but I don't think I have it in me. I'd have to get a chapter written and posted every other day for the next week, ha. While I plan for these to be short-ish, I don't think I could do it.
Plus, oof, it's time to turn attention to planning for NaNo. That always sneaks up on me! My hope is to get the story outlined by the end of the week, so that I have a roadmap for the month. (I'm definitely more of a planner than a pantser, though a bit of a hybrid plantser, I guess.)
So any in-progress fics are going to be on hiatus for at least the month of November. After that, I've still got two more chapters of Connections of the Heart to write (plus two more that need their second drafts), and then probably three more of Island Territory in both first and second draft. (Maybe I can get a second chapter written this week, which would give me something to post on Halloween, but I'll wait and see how I feel about my NaNo outline.)
I think I'll take tonight off, though. I'm sleepy and want to be lazy.

It was a bit dismaying (all over again - the steady passage of time continues to surprise and vex me) to discover Halloween is now only a week away. D:
Gotta get a pumpkin, and watch Over the Garden Wall, and hopefully make it to the corn maze on Saturday...

I need to figure out what to do about Nano. I'd like to be part of it, but my local groups are all run by nuts or flakes. Some write-ins would be good, tho.

I haven't ever joined any of my local NaNo groups, though I might try joining the discord this year. (If I recall, the one around my college was led by someone who had beef with my roommate, so I never wanted to join, ha.) I had a whole ONE year in which I was at least sort-of active on the forums, and since then I've just done it as a pretty solitary thing. I'll add you as a buddy, if you want! I do feel like some write-ins would be nice, and since everything is still virtual, I'd probably be able to do at least some of them.
