Day 16 of NaNo + Last Night in Soho

For by-text work updates: the response to my manager quitting was pretty nonchalant from the field director and from HR. But one of our instructors turned in HIS resignation because he was only sticking around because of her, another instructor asked if he could use her as a reference, so maybe he's about to bail, and unrelatedly the support staff at one of the other locations she manages quit. (Though that was the girl who pulled the "asking vax status is a HIPPA violation!!1!", so no loss.)

Finally feeling well enough/not coughing too much to go to cheap movie day! Alex and I had hoped to see both Antlers and Last Night in Soho, but Antlers isn't playing at our usual theater anymore. (The one it was at doesn't have a cheap option, so nope.) Gonna have to get that one from Redbox.

But Last Night in Soho was still playing, so we went to see that. I really enjoyed it! I liked the style, and I'm always a sucker for pseudo-time-travel/visions of another time, so combining that with horror is A+ in my book. I've only seen Edgar Wright's comedies, but I thought he did this really well. The cast and acting was fantastic (Anya Taylor-Joy killed it.) I very much enjoyed the mirror effects when the main character is seeing herself as the other woman she's connected to.
Alex liked it as well, so that was good!

I have a government position and we manage health services, so every few years I reread HIPAA to make sure I remember what it says (and doesn't). Your coworker is probably getting her information from some crazy uncle or Faux News. HHS actually specifically addresses this situation on their website. An employer asking vaccination status is NOT a violation. Them disclosing an individual's status could be:

I'm almost positive she's firmly part of a Faux Noise household, so that would not surprise me. And yeah, this was just to prepare for the possibility of the mandate regarding either vaccination or weekly testing, so it was a request for updated vax records OR to speak to HR about a plan for testing. And instead she decided to flail and flounce.
It feels like the end of lockdown all over again when customers would come in screaming about how they were going to sue us because the ADA said requiring masks was illegal. (Also not true.)

Me too! I didn't want to go if I was still going to be coughing much (because rude!), but fortunately the cough isn't nearly as frequent anymore.

And woo for words! Though I think tonight is my last night of writing with a pretty strong outline... after this I'm down to a much sketchier outline, and I'm afraid I'm going to flounder, haha.
