Day 22 of NaNo
Day 22 of NaNo: 165 words, oof, lol. Not going to try and fight for more, because I am very sleepy.

My county approved a mask mandate again: anyone over the age of 3 in public indoor spaces must wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status. It goes into effect at midnight on the 24th.
Sorry it's necessary, but glad they've done it... even as I recognize the people who are most likely to need to wear them will be the least likely to do so.
I've been wearing my mask continually, except for when I am sitting alone at my desk at work, so it won't change a lot for me personally.
Frustratingly, this time the mandate comes with a bunch of loopholes, like "religious rites" and unspecified "medical conditions" as exempt, so I can only imagine how many people will want to fight about it if we do try to enforce it at our office.
The decision came after the end of the day, so no word on what our company will do in terms of policy. I probably won't know until Wednesday, which is the date it goes into effect.

Hangout time with Taylor:
- Played more Hades. I think we're up to...6? successful escapes? And we need 10? (Though I feel like there are sidequesty things that may take more runs to complete, even if there's no way we'd ever go for a full completion run. I'm invested in Orpheus and Euridice and in Achilles and Patroclus, plus we just got our expanded not-a-social-link with Meg...)
- Also while playing Hades: "Oh, so THAT'S why the OST has "Final Expense: Payback Mix" as a track..." (In the game, the shopkeeper that you can purchase some items from is Charon, the ferryman. The music that plays in his shop is called "Final Expense." For the first time on one of these runs, in his shop there was a bag of coins labeled with the option to "Borrow" them. Apparently Charon is a semi-random secret boss, and he will absolutely kick your ass for stealing his coins. The music while he beats the snot out of you is a remix of his shop theme.)
- Listened to a couple more episodes of The Magnus Archives
- Watched two more episodes of The Umbrella Academy
- Read a LOT of Calculated Risks and will almost certainly finish it in the morning before I leave.

Might call the teladoc again tomorrow. My cough was worse last night, and for a while was bringing up more fluid than it has been. I still feel okay, but at the end of the month I'll loose access to the teladoc as a free service (it will then be $45, which means I won't be able to afford it + anything they prescribe, which makes it not very useful.) So I may call tomorrow just to find out if they think I should go back on antibiotics or anything.

I also hope the mask mandate helps and it not a giant mess. I can't believe we are still needing to do this. I've gone from being the one everyone thinks is a doomsayer about the pandemic to going 'oh, wow, this is much worse than I actually expected.'

But god, fucking right? I never had a real rosy view of it, or thought it would just blow over, but even I'm pretty dismally disappointed in just how shitty people have been about it.

I really thought that a lot more people would get vaccines and then just lie about it. I mean, conservatives do that about other types of medical care, right? It's scary out there.

Though yeah, I figured there'd be way more secret vaccinations that people wouldn't want to admit to in favor of a public "principled stand" against it.

I really hope it isn't a big deal, too.
I know that nothing is likely to result in a lockdown again, and if it's the sort of big deal that leads to even more "go to work, put your health at risk for shit pay, BUT DO NOTHING ELSE AT ALL THAT MIGHT GIVE YOU A SCRAP OF ENJOYMENT" I'm going to have a hard time with it.

I wish we still had a mask mandate here. Everyplace is different. I still wear mine out, also. Mainly because I don't trust people in this area.
I support your decision to call the teledoc. I hope you're able to get the meds you need and that you feel better soon.

Fingers crossed this round of meds is helping. Last night I woke up far fewer times!
