Day 29 of NaNo + Juniper berries
Alex isn't feeling well, and hasn't been for a few days. Not the same crud I had - his stomach has been hurting, basically no matter what he eats. So he wasn't feeling great today, but it was also over 70° today.
So... despite the low-key "fucking climate change" anxiety, it seemed sad to waste the warm.
We decided to stop by a very small park that we pass by sometimes, but hadn't ever actually visited. We jokingly call it "West Nile Pond" because there was a West Nile outbreak there, though that was probably a good ten years ago now. The "pond" part is a bit of a joke, too, because while it is supposed to be a pond with a walking path, it has water for maybe a week or two out of the year, and then is just some cracked dirt, haha.
We did find a nice bench to sit on for a while and soak up some sun, so that was nice.
HOWEVER. There was also the most berry-laden juniper tree that I think I've ever seen:

SO MANY!
Then we came home, and Alex put on a really terrible disaster movie and I took a nap... for like four hours. I went to bed early last night, slept for about 9 hours... and then took a four hour nap. I must have been fucking tired.

Day 29 of NaNo: 1905 words [Vincent offers to martyr himself to save Alina, everyone is suitably annoyed that he would even consider it.] The most words I've had in quite a while! But also I admittedly cheated a bit... this was one of the sections that I DID get more fleshed-out in my "draft zero" writing last week, and so part of it was just rewriting and fixing that bit up, which was a lot easier than making the words happen the first time.

Wow, those juniper trees are loaded!
You really did need the sleep! I hope that helped your body heal some more.
Yay for more words!

The juniper tree was completely loaded!
I'm hoping so, too. I've probably still got some sleep debt from a damn month of sick.
