Not quite as planned:
One of those days that wasn't supposed to be all that long, then just kept getting longer, ha.
I went with Alex to his riding lesson this morning. His trainer just let him know last week that she's moving to Portland, so not very many more opportunities to see her or her horses. :/
The barn she works at is quite a ways away, but it was a beautiful day to be outside for a while.
Play spot the bird:

A Steller's jay (in silhouette)

And a white-breasted nuthatch! (near the middle) There were several of these guys in the trees.

Alex on Lola

And after the ride we went to visit with Lola's pasture-mate. I'm not sure this horse's name, but she is very big and very friendly. (Seriously, she's 17+ hands, and just turning three. SHE'S HUGE.) Fortunately she is extremely friendly towards people, ha. Also very pretty. She's quite thoroughbred shaped, but actually some sort of warmblood.
After that was where the day derailed, mostly because there was a 45-minute wait at the pharmacy for one of Alex's prescriptions, which... then wasn't ready, despite having been slated to be filled yesterday morning. Made a grocery trip elsewhere and then went back to Walgreens for another 20-minute wait, and then finally got the px.
It all wound up fine, but what was supposed to be "home by 1:30" turned to "it's after 3:30 and I haven't eaten anything yet today and I haven't gotten anything done."

This bit of litter in the garage right where I get out of the truck sums it up well. :)

And then the moon looked very dramatic rising over Denver.
