A couple things I'm looking forward to:
The weather is hitting near record high temps today, tomorrow, and Monday. While I was stuck at work today (and will be stuck with an extra long day tomorrow), I do have Monday off! We're hoping to venture out on our first kinda-hike of the year. Not a real serious one (we're limited a bit - don't want to venture up too far into the mountains, since it'll be chillier there and probably muddier, too.) Hopefully we'll be able to find a nice walk that won't be too strenuous for me or for Cy.
I think I'll finish the second draft of Connections of the Heart tonight! FINALLY. This second draft has gone a lot more smoothly than the extremely slow and painful first draft.I've even gotten over low-key hating the damn thing. I am at least half joking about having grown to hate it, and I am actually reasonably happy with it now in the end, which is good.
This isn't the type of story I typically write (relationship as primary, central conflict), and probably isn't something I'll write a lot more of. I like my romances and my ships and my relationship arcs... but strongly prefer it as the B plot, with something else going on as the central story. Never say never, and I'm still glad I wrote it.
