Manager made it through the whole work day... coughing on everything and blowing his nose every few minutes.

It was a pretty awful day, and it would have been worse if he hadn't been there, but I also don't want the crud just spreading around the office. I don't want it! I don't want anyone else to have it!

Most of the awful was of the reschedule kind... We have instructors taking time off over the summer (as they should!), but all of those appointments have been booked for months, and we have very little to offer as alternatives, so it's rough.
It's just like, mentally stressful, but it FEELS like someone running sandpaper down my spine, and I don't know how else to explain how much I hate it, lol.

Chronic-caller-outer called out with a family emergency. He has a lot of those, which is either very sucky or very sucky to lie about. I'm mainly suspicious because he was already taking tomorrow off. But that just added MORE rescheduling.

I really want to have something to post besides work whinging.

The whole state of the world thing is pretty rough, and I think that's maybe hitting me harder than I thought. The shooting in TX... all the details that came out today were just new layers of awful on a situation that shouldn't have been possible to make worse. I don't have anything to say beyond how horrifying it is.

At least three high schools here went on lockdown yesterday due to threats.

I always feel that people are so inconsiderate when they come to work and spread their germs, and yet companies don't give a shit so you can't get time off for that sort of thing, so instead they have everyone getting sick and spreading even more germs . . . I think sick people should wear masks.

Right? I feel like we all had the vain hope, back in 2020, that at the very LEAST, the spread of Covid would show everyone how important it was to stay home when sick, and minimize contact with others, and take precautions when not feeling well.
We should have known that even that silver lining was garbage.
No one wants to use what little time off they have on being sick, when using it for that means you can't take a vacation or have a holiday off. I get it, but it's also SO shitty to spread it around and make everyone else sick!

(Early on in Guardian there's an episode where Zhao Yunlan has a cold and is sneezing all over the place, and even before COVID I was like "SIR. I love you, but NO.")

Super ew! *Especially* post-Covid, I don't understand how people are okay just... being germ factories all over everyone and everything around them! WE KNOW MASKS WORK! The power is yours!

(Right? Even fictional people being sick makes me shudder!)
