Hudson Gardens (Part 2: Not Roses)
Part two of pictures! The things that are not roses.

I always love the goldfish pond. :)

A pair of very unbothered ducks.

Another of the goldfish, with the waterlily.
No turtles sunning on the river. Understandably; it was 99°.

But there was a very big carp!

Lovely flowers on one of the trees. I don't know what kind they are, I'm afraid.

The bees! Lots of active hives, despite the heat.

There were SO MANY damselflies. (Lots making more damselflies!) I like the bright blue one contrasting with the yellow flowers.
We were hoping to see some frogs, but no luck spotting any. We did HEAR a large bullfrog, but it was well-hidden in a very overgrown area along the bank. Alex saw a couple tadpoles, though.
There were also quite a few crayfish, though they were hard to get pictures of through the water.

Some mushrooms!
Over by the river area, there was another snapping turtle! I wasn't able to get my phone up fast enough to get a decent picture as it pretty immediately went into deeper water from the shore, but it was about half again as big as the one we saw last time!

And finally, a lovely blooming cactus.
Today we took Cy to the greenbelt so that he could wade, and then he got a bath, so he thinks he's dying after having such an exhausting day and being forced to be clean and fluffy.
Definitely feeling all the ways in which doing things two days in a row was too much. I wanted to fall asleep as soon as I got home, but had to like... do stuff.
Yesterday was supposed to be my last day off from writing! I knew I wouldn't be posting today, but I did plan on writing more! And I know that this happens way too easily - one day off suddenly becomes two, becomes three, becomes a week... but I am taking ONE MORE NIGHT so that I can get to bed before midnight, and then tomorrow I will start being productive again.
(Also, I finished The Hourglass Throne today, and much like Taylor I AM BEING COMPLETELY NORMAL ABOUT IT. I am texting with them and they are sending me all the lines from book 1 that are VERY DIFFERENT in retrospect now that they just reread it, and I am frankly in awe of how many things hint at three separate revelations (or at least take on a very different tone once those revelations are known) from book three. HOLY SHIT.)

And the new growth on the cactus looked so *perfect*, haha. Photogenic cactus.

Lovely photos! I especially like ducks (I was very surprised when I started walking and saw how much smaller ducks are than geese) and the flowering cactus. And the water photos, natch. *g*
I LOL'd at Cy thinking he's dying and was lucky to not spit iced tea all over my laptop!

And thank you. I loved the ducks! It's wild how big geese actually are, haha. They can be huge! The cactus looked so perfect. And water pictures are always good.
Hahaha, glad the laptop didn't get iced tea-d! Cy is very overdramatic.
