Denver Botanic Gardens - Part 1: Flowers
Today we went to the Denver Botanic Gardens. :) We haven't been in a while, and it's a lovely place to walk around. (And we're luckily able to get in for a steep discount because of Alex's SNAP benefits.)
The roses were definitely the general star of the gardens right now, though as always there was a ton more as well!
We also had absolutely AMAZING lemonade at the garden cafe. It was lavender and honey. The lavender was barely noticeable (in a good way), though the honey flavor came through a bit more, and it was the perfect amount of sweet. It was so good, lol.
The gardens were more crowded than expected, though not too badly. Unfortunately we did not realize that they were closing early for a private event, so we only had about three hours, and didn't get to a few of the smaller gardens or any of the indoor stuff. :(
But it was a beautiful day and a great place to spend the afternoon.

A very pretty fritillary butterfly on some very pretty flowers.

Super picturesque pink roses just starting to open.

One of my favorites, because the bee is so in-focus for a change, lol. So many bees all day, it was wonderful!

Some lovely larkspur.
Sometimes my phone will try to over-saturate colors, but this is not one of those times: they really were just this bright, ha.

This rose stood out a lot compared to the others on the same bush, which were all more white or cream where this one was yellow.

A bee on these lovely purple flowers.

Extremely vibrant red roses.

Another very picturesque rose.

This bumblebee was enormous!

Lovely peach rose. This *may* be the same rosebush that provided the rose that was my default LJ icon for *years*. (The one on this post!)

These flowers were amazing, and the bees LOVED them. Another giant bumblebee!

Some very vibrant columbine. (I tried taking pictures of several OTHER columbine, but all the others turned out blurry!)

And some more nice flowers.
Non-flower pictures (animals and non-flowering plants, mostly) should happen soon.

I was thrilled that there were so many bees. I love them all!
