SO MUCH LIGHTNING!

One thing this summer had been sadly lacking was some really good thunderstorms.

Well last night, a bit after 10:00, we got a pretty wild one! Mostly it was lightning (pretty much all cloud-to-cloud, so lots of bright glowing flashes, but not so much dramatic bolts.) Not a lot of thunder (minus one REALLY LOUD crack and a few rumbles). LOTS of rain, which was far louder than the thunder for the most part, and lots of wind for a while. Hooray for flash flood warnings in the middle of the night.

BUT THE COOL PART WAS THE LIGHTNING.

I do not have a good camera, but used the "take as many pictures as fast as my phone will let me and hope I get something" method.


This one is my favorite, because the cloud that's being backlit looks like a dragon :)

A bit later where instead of a dragon it looked like a shark. :)
