Mildly frustrating day
Today was mildly frustrating in that I wound up with almost no time to do anything.
Alex had a riding lesson at 11, with the intent that meant he'd be done by 12:30 or so, leaving us the whole afternoon to come home. He hasn't had a lesson in a couple weeks with his shoulder hurting, but today was the last day the trainer's other student would be here, since she (the student) is moving to Michigan.
I went along, because the hour+ in the car while he rides is good enforced reading time for me, since it's pretty distraction free. Unfortunately, instead of 12:30, he wasn't done until 2:00. Then we had a handful of errands after, so we didn't get home until 4:00. The bright side is that I DID get a lot of reading done! I blew past my self-imposed goal for the week, and am close to halfway through the book, which I'm enjoying. The downside is... well, the "we'll be home by 1:00" turned to 4:00, so I didn't have time to sit and work on writing or anything else.
(The other upside was we did buy Chinese food for dinner, and nom.)
My weekends always feel agonizingly short.
