My stepmom has COVID. So far it's fairly mild-moderate in terms of symptoms. She's probably about 5-6 days into it, and has been a little worse each day, but not horrifically ill. Not sure how she got it; I know she's been careful, but their town (outside Phoenix) has a lot of anti-masker types, so plenty of other people haven't been.

My dad tested negative, so they're quarantining at opposite ends of their house. He'll test again in a couple days. He's also recovering from surgery (right before Christmas the artificial lens in one of his eyes detached.)

I'm trying not to be too worried, but it's hard.

Other news:

The Icy Hot definitely did help my back! Not completely - moving still hurts a whole bunch, but this at least means that I can sit or lay down without it hurting the whole time. Just that's quite a relief.

I should be getting a new phone on Tuesday. My old one's battery is shot. It lasts for maybe an hour unplugged, and goes from around 75% straight to shutting down. We'll see how the new one is!

I hope she's okay and it doesn't get any worse! It's good to hear your family is taking it seriously and protecting your Dad. That sort of quarantine sounds awkward and stressful.

Oh no! I hope your stepmom recovers quickly and that your dad doesn't get it. Ughhh...I hate anti-maskers so fucking much. They're always the types to call everyone else selfish because they want ways to take care of themselves and others, but when it comes to them doing their part, it takes away their freedoms. Ugh. I'll keep my fingers crossed for them.

I'm super glad that the Icy Hot is helping. You'll probably have to just keep applying it. That's what I've had to do when my back (or knee or whatever) hurts. Eventually, it'll just be gone -- or should be. It does help make it easier to sit or lie down so that you can rest your back without re-hurting it because you stay stuck in one position or whatever.

Free-dumbs. Oh. Oh I like that. I like that a lot. I'll have to add that to my vocabulary along with one I saw tonight on a friend's FB in the comments: Mayo Martyrs.

You're very welcome! I'm glad to hear that it helped, and yeah, putting it on right before bed is an excellent time to use it because then you're resting and it gives it time to really work in and help.
