Oof.
Poor Alex and I both woke up in horrible pain in the middle of the night at almost the same time. Mine was due to really hideous calf cramps, and his due to more serious issues with something in his spine pinching a nerve. We both ultimately got back to sleep, but still, not my favorite 4am wakeup.
Spent the day running errands and then napping. Not how I *wanted* to spend my day off, but probably how it needed to be spent. Maybe tomorrow we'll be able to do something a little more interesting.
Alex did pick up some bananas for me at the store, so maybe that'll help with the leg cramps. Fucking OW. (It's still sore! It's been a couple years since I got those sorts of miserable cramps and I do not like them!)

I did find out my Set Sail zine pitch was approved! Pretty glad, because I hadn't actually come up with any good alternate ideas, haha. So cheers to that. Now I can actually start working on it for real. (The challenge is still probably going to be keeping it short, heh.)

My attempt at doing brief media roundups was... extremely short-lived. I think I did it... twice? Three times? Lol. But I kind of want to give it another try. Just what I've read or watched for the week or so. Sometimes it's not much, but a lot of times I've got at least some feelings about it, ha. Just have to take the time to actually put together the words about those feelings, ha.

Cy seems to be over his digestive distress (fingers crossed), and I did not have to take him out in the middle of the night last night. Alex can sleep through everything, and I WISH I could do the same... though I guess it's good I don't, because it saves us from much grosser problems inside.
ETA: I just realized I'd failed to mention that yesterday. Another factor in why the day sucked was because I'd only gotten about 4 hours of sleep, having had to get up twice and take Cy down six stories to have some emergency digestive explosions. Cy has a pretty touchy stomach, and often we wind up with no idea of why he has issues when he does, since we try to keep his diet very consistent. We had him fast for most of yesterday until the evening, and today he seemed to feel much better.

Congrats on having your idea accepted!
Poor Cy. *pets* I hope he's over whatever was bothering him.

And poor Cy - he still seems to be not feeling well, so last night was way more back and forth outside, and very little sleep. Poor pup.

YIKES.
Poor pup! I hope he's feeling entirely better by now.

Sadly, the kidney infection left him with kidney damage which means that he has to forever be on a low-protein diet, and unfortunately almost all dog foods are too high protein. We tried one kidney-formula food, and that made him hurl. We've found a few things he can eat, but have to mostly give him carb-heavy stuff like bread or rice as the bulk of his food, with small amounts of wet food that can help with nutrient balance + protein and fat.
Unfortunately we're out of rice, but that's probably what we'll try to give him for a bit. He hasn't eaten anything out of the ordinary lately, but... sometimes it's just an unknown. :/

Good news about the zine!
I like seeing media round ups. I don't always respond if I haven't seen it or it's not at least adjacent to stuff I am familiar with. But they are cool to read.

And yes, I'm relieved about the zine!
I feel similarly about peoples' reviews of media I haven't seen/read/played/etc. I may not have anything to say, but sometimes I still enjoy seeing what they said about it, whether or not I have an opinion!
