Updated Writing Goals/Calendar: December 2022

Last writing goals/calendar post of the year! (Yikes!)

How stuff has been going:

January - March
Completed two drafts of my WIP "Connections of the Heart", and began posting the new chapters.

April - June
Completed the rough draft and second draft of "Island Territory", and got all five chapters posted.

July - August
Did a rewrite of my Silent Hill fic "Outbreak", and began posting my Kingdom Hearts/Howl's Moving Castle fusion "All Strange Wonders." Also outlined a fic idea for the "Set Sail" zine.

September - October
I worked on my "Set Sail" piece, and started posting "Outbreak."

November
- NaNoWriMo! 50k on a straightforward f/f romance. Sort of successful! I did get just over 54k, though it was on a mix of the intended project, another story, and non-fiction writing.
01 - post Chapter 3 of Outbreak Posted as planned!
08 - post Chapter 10 of ASW Posted as planned!
14 - post Chapter 4 of Outbreak Posted as planned!
19 - Check-In #2 for Set Sail - 1/3 of fic complete Completed! And actually closer to 1/2 done.
22 - post Chapter 11 of ASW Posted as planned!
29 - post Chapter 5 of Outbreak Posted as planned!

So November went about as well as could be expected. I do still wish it felt like a "cleaner" win, but I DID write my 50k and I'm pleased with that anyway.

December
As much as I'd really like to write something new, to utilize the time while I'm posting other fics, I've honestly had a really hard time with writing for the last several months. I just... don't have any ideas I particularly love, and don't have a lot of ideas period. So I think that this month, it'd be better to focus on trying to do other things - mostly reading, probably. (I didn't do nearly as much of that this year as I'd hoped to.) Maybe some gaming. Maybe watching stuff. Idk, but my hope is to do some creative intake in the hopes of that it helps my creative output.

- I do want to finish the Set Sail second draft.
06 - post Chapter 12 of ASW
13 - post Chapter 6 of Outbreak
17 - Check-In #3 for Set Sail - 2/3 of fic complete
20 - post Chapter 13 of ASW
27 - post Chapter 7 of Outbreak
- Also writing-adjacent, I need to figure out my writing goals for next year and rejoin both inkingitout and getyourwordsout.
- Also also writing-adjacent, after payday, I want to try Scrivener. The coupon post-NaNo is actually good for a long while, so no real rush, but I now have a computer that can run it!

I still haven't really figured out what I hope to do in 2023, though it's getting close to when I need to at least start having that sorted out.

I hope creative input helps you/inspires you to create, too. I think in general, creative input is good food for the soul. :)

You did a lot! I hope you find some good stuff to read/watch/play to help you recharge. My problem is too many ideas.

Have fun watching stuff :)

Yeah, I've been stalled out by the 'but what do I waaaant to write' for very long stretches of time. This is definitely better, even if I keep derailing myself.
