For a day that was an hour shorter...
...it sure felt long.
Probably not helped by only getting about three and a half hours of sleep. One hour short due to time change, the other time lost to spending multiple hours overnight cleaning up after a sick dog. SO FUN.so gross
It's probably on us, trying to switch up her food. She is SO underweight we switched her to a high-calorie version of the same food she'd been on at the shelter, and maybe it was just too much for her.
But I did not have a good night, and Alex apparently didn't have the *best* day with her (with another explosion in the car later in the day.)
We (meaning Alex) did get some cleaner that's formulated for gross pet messes, and some probiotics and canned pumpkin to hopefully help.
Work was the sort of mild suck that just couldn't be helped. No one called out sick today or created new emergencies, and I managed to get all of my ordinary work done early. But the class was large, and I was on my own for the paperwork end of it, which meant I was there until after 6:00 (when I normally leave at 5:00.) On the bright side, that means I can probably cut out an hour early sometime later in the week.
Went over to mom and Taylor's house for slightly belated birthday celebration. My mom made me peach pie. :) She also made spaghetti sauce, which is a favorite of mine, ha.
She gave me a couple of books - the newest Incryptid book and the newest Wayward Children novella - and a few nice pots for me to replant some of my houseplants. (Much overdue!) Those stayed at her house for now, just because they were heavy and hard for me to carry on my own.
Taylor gave me the Final Fantasy X/X-2 PS3 port, because sometimes I just want to play a JRPG, and Priory of the Orange Tree.
Tonight I am ready to nod off, so everything else is happening tomorrow.
Also lunch with dad tomorrow.
And I really hope I get to stay asleep for more than a couple of hours without small pit bulls exploding.

Have fun with FFX. Have you played that one before?

I never played through FFX! I watched a friend play quite a bit of it, and did play X-2, but I never made it through X on my own.

I'm having a lot of fun with X right now! I feel like I am probably not GREAT at it, but am also not very far yet. Not sucking is what New Game+ is for, lol.

Sounds like other than Bella being ill and the suck of work, you've had a fairly decent birthday few days so far. I hope lunch with your dad goes really well tomorrow!

Cy has a very touchy stomach, but he's also really good about telling us when he's not feeling well or when something is wrong. He almost never has accidents of any kind, because he WILL make sure we know that there is an impending emergency. Bella has like, zero tells. She doesn't make noise, she doesn't move around, she doesn't go to the door...
This was the same food (though a different formula) that she'd been eating before, so we'd hoped it wouldn't be a big change for her, especially because she's already ON an anti-diarrheal med.
Rice is our go-to for upset dog stomachs! (And is actually the bulk of what we give Cy now anyway, because he's had so many issues.) She's been getting a little rice with a tablespoon or so of pumpkin, plus a dose of the "dog immodium" stuff a couple times a day. Fingers crossed that things are getting better!
Work just sucks all the time now, and that's getting really hard. :/
But other than the night of no sleep and cleaning up gross dog mess, it's been good.
Lunch was great!

That's a lovely haul of presents!

And yes! A very nice haul, and all things I'm looking forward to.

It sounds like a good evening last night. Yay! I hope lunch with your dad is good too.

She's been better yesterday and today, fortunately.
And yes - it was a lovely evening and a wonderful lunch!
