Monday: The greenbelt (again)
On Monday we wanted to go for a walk somewhere (hoping to get it in between rain showers!)
Because the weather was in that "who knows? not us!" unpredictable pattern, we didn't want to go too far, just in case we had to retreat. Sadly, that nixed my hope to go to one of the botanic gardens.

Though at least there were still some flowers! Back near the "secret garden" area.

Quick stop at a park for the dogs to get a potty break and a chance to run out a little energy. Cy didn't want to run, but was pretty happy to sprawl.
This time we went the other way down the greenbelt. (Glad we went our "favorite" way last time, because more of it was closed back off again with the construction.)

Some mushrooms.

A few more nice flowers.
This was the area that I called the "secret garden" last year - it looks like the overgrown remnants of an old garden from before there were condos there. The old bench was still there, but the neat little iron table is gone. Bummer that someone apparently took it.

One of the biggest roly polies I remember ever finding! He was huge! And such a neat color variety. (I love my little land crustaceans.)
There were SO MANY roly polies. They were all over the sidewalk, and everywhere along the edges of the path! They are definitely enjoying how much rain we've had, and are doing their job breaking down dead plants and such!

And a crab spider.
This guy was in the middle of the sidewalk, and I nudged them to see if they'd move, because I didn't want them to get stepped on. They didn't move, so I thought they were maybe dead. Then I poked them with my fingernail and they were NOT dead, lol.
We wound up getting back to the car pretty much just in time - we heard a couple distant rumbles of thunder just as we were almost back, and then it started to rain shortly after we got in the car.
It was on the way back home that the brakes were suddenly noticeably worse, which put a bit of a damper on the day. Though at least that's now been dealt with!

Aw, happy puppy

And yes, he was pretty happy about it. (More, longer grass is more of a chance to roll in it!)

I'm glad you managed to get in a nice walk before the rain hit.

And yes, me too! I'm happy we're getting so much rain - it's why the flowers are so happy - but it does make going out and doing things a bit more challenging.

And yes, Cy was quite pleased with the nice cool grass.
