Friday: Botanic Gardens (again!)
On Friday we got together with my mom and Taylor again to go back to the Botanic Gardens. Taylor hadn't been able to get the day off the time we came with my mom last time, and I know they were a bit bummed about that. So we went back!
What's in bloom changes so frequently, there's always new and different stuff to see.
This time, we were apparently there for peak lilies!

Honeybees! There were so many of them everywhere!

A nice shot of a painted lady butterfly being surprisingly cooperative.

A very nice daylily. I especially like this one, because the variety name is "Bela Lugosi".

There were a lot of painted lady butterflies this time.

A very nice white lily with red specks.
One of my favorites:

We saw quite a few of these guys - some type of wasp. They're very silvery, with almost blue eyes. They were really neat looking! [Probably sand wasps, some googling tells me. They're generally non-aggressive and considered beneficial, because they eat flies.]

Another painted lady.
Another favorite:

Toadlets! Look how cute and tiny they are! They still have their little tails!!!
Looking at their faces, I think these are likely woodhouse toad babies, and they've just crawled out of the water from being tadpoles. (There were lots of tadpoles, most with legs, around in the pond, too.) This is the same pond where we saw a couple toads... "hugging"... last time we were here.

These little climbing roses were pretty, but fairly unassuming. But they also had the most *wonderful* rose fragrance.

A very nice tiger lily.

The most perfectly classic colored koi!

And I think this might be the same very fancy koi we saw last time, too. So many fins! (This one looks lighter and less gold-colored than the previous one, but otherwise looks very similar.)
Unfortunately the heat really started to get to Taylor, so they had to head back to the car before making it quite all the way through. It was still a nice trip!
After the garden, I ran home to quickly pack a bag, then spent the night over at Taylor's.
Got there and immediately took a quick nap, ha.
Later we wanted to play some more of AI: Nirvana Initiative... but found out that all the save data had been mysteriously erased. (Taylor had to do a system restore fairly recently, but it shouldn't have impacted game files. There also should have still been cloud backups. Nope... though fortunately none of their other games had the same thing happen.) Sooooo we fortunately found a zero commentary letsplay, and watched more of it that way.
It was kind of a meta thing - one of the whole things in the game being about the nature of reality and whether it could be deleted or changed and such, lol.

Lost save files suuuck.

And seriously! Super frustrating that the files were just... utterly gone. Nothing on the computer, no Steam backup, just... utterly vanished. (I'm glad none of their other games were impacted, but why this one??)
