Initial Tentative Writing Goals/Calendar:
I want to put together a plan for the writing I intend to do this year, but I don't think I'm quite there yet. I want to find something that excites me to focus on... but I have to actually find it!
Goals for January
- 01/13: finish my first draft of the "Reconnection" AU
- 01/16: finish a second draft of the "Reconnection" AU, and post it
- 01/20: finish my first draft of the "Royalty" AU
- 01/23: finish a second draft of the "Royalty" AU, and post it
(A few notes: I am giving myself a bit of time before the first "due date," because I know I'm not going to be working on anything for the next three days. I am planning on second drafts being much faster than the initial drafts I'm struggling with, though also giving myself the benefit of being able to write those over my "weekends." As usual, it'd be great if I could finish something earlier than planned!)
Goals for beyond January...
- finish the other three lingering AUgust fics ("Dark," "Shipwrecked," and "Pick Two") by the first week of March. Earlier would be great!
- look again at the outline of the "Worldhopping Fairytale Monstrosity" fic, and see if that may be what I want to focus on.
- see if doing the canon refreshes on Sparrow Hill Road and Alice Isn't Dead seem feasible.
- work on at least one of the various original things I've been poking vaguely at.
- what may be most helpful would be to do a "reinventory" of the various ideas I've written down, and really look at which things I have an active interest in, vs. which ones I just think have some merit to the idea. I think sometimes I mistake the latter for the former, but just liking an idea isn't necessarily the same as wanting to actively work on it.

Whatever it is, good luck! You'll get a lot done this year!

But thank you! I'm hoping to have a year that feels like a more coherent set of things done!

I admire your ability to set a deadline date. I usually just guessimate a time frame lol. I hope you're able to finish your fics well before then.
Best of luck with the "reinventory" of the various ideas you've written down! I also have to do something similar. lol. You got this!

And thank you. I don't always actually hit the deadlines I set, but at least having one in place tends to motivate me a bit!
And thank you. Looking over old ideas can be fun - sometimes there are gems you forgot about that you find new excitement over!

Ah ok, I feel you there. I can see how it may be motivating. I also try to finish around the estimated time frame. lol.
Yeah, I love looking back at older ideas for those reasons and also seeing how some of them can connect with some of the newer ones. It's really fun!
