I do appreciate that the character writing in Final Fantasy XIV has been strong enough that twice so far the dialogue has been enough to give away a character's identity, even in absence of voice acting.

- Late in Heavensward, you get to meet the "Warriors of Darkness" team who are opposing you (the "Warrior of Light".) They have a shadowy-robed figure advising them who has an archaic style of speech.

And I said "Oh damn, they even have their own Urianger!"

...It was Urianger.

- And toward the end of Stormblood, current big-bad, son of the emperor, Zenos, dies on screen! Then he's mysteriously apparently alive, back in the evil empire, and his grave is empty! "Zenos" gives a big speech about why keeping the empire in power is important, fighting against existential threats to the world and all... which are really not motives that Zenos has ever appeared to have.

And I said "Not even one hunting metaphor? It's like you're not even trying to make me believe this is really Zenos."

...Literally a scene later, we get focus on a ~random~ NPC... who immediately uses a hunting metaphor.
