Habit Tracking: Week 04 (January 19 - January 25)
It was very cold and snowy this week, so have a yeti. There was also a yeti character in the book I was reading.
We went to see Nosferatu
This was a mostly okay week. Really not enjoying the weather, though! Miserably cold at the start of the week, gross and snowy at the end. I definitely was (am) really struggling with The State of Things, trying not to get bogged down by all the awful in every direction, but often failing. I am happy about the amount of steady writing progress I made, despite it still being slower than I'd hoped, and that I realize a lot of it will very much need a rewrite or few. (I am just approaching the halfway point of the story that I'd hoped to finished with last month!) I am also happy about the continued reading! I finished two books and started two more. I did realize just how much I've been neglecting all the various household things I've intended to do, so need to focus in a bit more on that.
Goals for the week:
- I did finish Somewhere Beyond the Sea
- I did get more writing done
- I worked on my reading page
- Still didn't set up the phone
- I did not get the Christmas stuff put away
- I did not clean off my bedside table
- I did not start on the stuff pile
- I did not prep my NaMo model
- I did start reading Down Among the Sticks and Bones, which I then finished
- I started reading Never Say You Can't Survive
- I started reading Trouble and Her Friends
- I watered my plants
- I attended a mandatory meeting at work
Tracked habits:
- Work - 5/7

- Physical Activity - 1/7
- Wrote 500/1000+ Words - 5/7 - two days of over 1000 words, three days of over 500
- Wrote on 2nd+ Draft - 0/7
- Meta Work - 3/7
- Personal Writing - 4/7
- Other Creative Things - 2/7
- Reading - 7/7 - Read and finished Somewhere Beyond the Sea, read a bit of my ebook, read Down Among the Sticks and Bones, started Never Say You Can't Survive, started Trouble and Her Friends
- Attention to Media - 7/7 - Sunday I watched some youtube videos and then half-watched some true-crime show later; Monday we watched some tornado videos and some urban exploration videos; Tuesday we went to see Nosferatu which I did quite like; Wednesday we watched an episode of Kitchen Nightmares and then an ep of Animal Control and then some true crime; Thursday we watched The Hopewell Haunting which was kind of boring, and I think we'd already watched, and then Wake Wood which was better, but my focus was gone; Friday we watched Animosity, which was a pretty decent horror, especially for apparently being a student film; Saturday we half-watched some storm chasing videos. I know we watched Abbott Elementary but I don't remember what day that was.
- Video Games - 0/7
- Social Interaction - 6/7
Total words written: 5262 words on my current WIP plus my reactions to Never Say You Can't Survive
