Turns out my mom snores, lol.

Things are still going well, so far. Lots of today was spent sorting out more details of the renal diet my grandma needs to go on. It's hard because some of it is very opposite to what Debby is on for her diet.

Today was pretty quiet, though. Taylor and I sat with Grandma while my mom and Debby went out to garden some. I know this is really hard on my aunt, as just a lot falling to her to deal with, so I hope giving her time with my mom helped, even if just for a little while.

Though sitting with Grandma mostly just meant Taylor and I each read, while Grandma played solitaire. She also napped - and dreamed about an alligator, haha.

I'm glad that things are going well for you and your family and this visit. So I take it that the two diets will be expensive, probably, to maintain?

I get that. One of the things when Kas and I moved up to Taylor was that it gave my sister a chance to go out either with Joe and Linda or just by herself while I took care of our aunt.

Yeah, I'm afraid it will be. Debby does gluten free and some other restrictions, and the renal diet for my grandmother is low-sodium, low-potassium, and low-phosphorous. That one is sometimes counterintuitive - white bread is okay, but wheat bread is not. Some things can be eaten cooked but not raw or vice-versa.
They'll find the things that overlap, and probably try to focus on that, and otherwise Debby will have to do a lot of double-cooking and shopping to make sure they each have what they need.

And yes, I think it helped Debby to have some time with my mom to vent. She loves my grandmother - of course - but my grandmother can also be very critical and hard to please with certain things.

I'm glad things are going well and that your mom and Debby had time together. Venting is so necessary! I feel her pain on opposite diets. I had to deal with that when Pip was eating GF and I was doing low-carb. I often make two different things for supper.

Opposite diets is hard, so I definitely sympathize. It wasn't quite the same, but when I worked in a bakery, I could get a lot of free baked goods, which helped a lot when we were struggling for money... but Alex prefers to eat low-carb.
