Tuesday: Lake walk

Monday evening, we got notice from the apartments that we were having another "annual" inspection on Wednesday (today.) This is the fourth annual inspection this year! (Wish they'd just combine some of these.) So we had to spend the rest of Monday evening and a big chunk of yesterday cleaning, making sure all the surfaces were cleaned off, that floors were vacuumed, etc.

We did decide to take a break yesterday and go out for a walk. We picked a local lake that we hadn't ever walked around before. It was very windy, but nice out, and I'm glad we had a chance to get outside for a while.

Because it was so windy, Bella got to encounter ~waves~.


She was interested in them, but not overly bothered.

Back at the eastern shore of the lake, Bella got to take a look at more little waves.




She was very interested in the noise the water was making.

Yay for a nice (if windy) day out! The wild roses are lovely! (Because of your previous photos of wild roses, on Saturday, after I mowed the lawn, I drove the lawn mower down to the nearest wild rose bush to check it out. No buds yet, so I haven't missed those! *g*)

Why so many 'annual' inspections?!!! Can you say something? Are they trying to annoy you?!!

It was a lovely day, despite the wind, ha. I'm glad you haven't missed your wild roses! I feel like ours are early this year, but maybe I'm just misremembering when they tend to start.

This many "annual" inspections has been deeply annoying. Their justification is that all the inspections are for different things, so each *thing* only happens once a year. (One was for smoke alarms and fire sprinklers, one was for the "investors" to come gawk at how the poors live, one was for bedbug prevention, this most recent one was for their loan company to inspect the building...) But seriously, averaging almost an inspection a month feels really invasive. :/ We'll see how many more they come up with.

Right? Four in a five month span certainly *feels* like a lot more than one per year, but I guess I'm not the expert... (Each inspection has been for a different purpose, but I really wish they'd figure out a way to combine them.)

It was a lovely walk, though! I love herons, and was sad that I hadn't really seen any this year yet. I know they're around, I've just not managed to cross paths with them, so I was glad to see one!

I'm no mathematician, but four inspections in five months feels like more than one a year... (They say that each inspection has been for something different, so each *thing* is annual, but this feels excessive.)

It was a lovely lake! A nice day to walk around. And thank you! I feel like I forget about globemallow every year, and then am delighted all over again when it starts blooming on the roadsides.

Annoying misuses of words and invasive intrusiveness aside (I hope all went well and that that's the end of the annoying), those are great wildflower pictures! And aww, I love the happy inquisitive puppy! ^^
