I hit my Camp NaNo goal yesterday! My goal was to edit 25000 words of All Strange Wonders in the month of April, and yesterday I hit 25963 words. :) I feel pretty good about having hit my goal in just about 2/3 of the month. I think I'll set my "stretch" goal to 40k for the month (about 1500/day for the rest of the month), though I don't plan to stress about getting there. But maybe it'll help me keep up some momentum.

In less good news, my grandmother was taken to the hospital today. She had a hard time breathing this morning, so Debby called 911. At the hospital, they discovered her kidneys are only at about 5% function. She was taken to the ICU, and has been started on antibiotics in case she's in the early stages of developing pneumonia. They also decided to do dialysis.
Back in Oregon, she was told basically that it was too late for dialysis to help, so she shouldn't do it. I've never really been clear on the reason for that, unless it was from the same doctors who gave her three days to live.
Now it's just sort of a question of whether the dialysis helps or not. Debby stayed with her for most of the day, and will be back for visiting hours tomorrow, I'm sure.
I'm still so glad that we were able to go see her, and I'm trying to be optimistic about things now.

Sorry to hear about your grandmother. I hope the dialysis helps.

I hope so too. From my aunt's update today it sounds like it was good? They're at least now talking about releasing her, and finding her a community dialysis center, which is a move in the right direction.

I hope it helps, also. It sounds like maybe it is? They're talking about finding a community dialysis place that has the ability to add a new patient, so that's a move in the right direction, at least.
