Cleaning out Broccoli Cheddar Bomb's terrarium is a pain in the ass, lol. It's just so much bending over and scrubbing. But that got done today. I have given up on trying to give him a mossy dish, because he never used it. I have now tried to put a small plant (one of my fallen spider plant spiders) in, so we'll see how that goes. (Mostly he's hiding on the opposite side of it so far.)
I'm also thinking I should replace the rocks he has. Not the big ones, but the aquarium gravel. Every time I scrub it, there are little flakes of blue that get rinsed off, so some of the paint is obviously chipping. And most of the care suggestions I've seen say that aquarium gravel is really a little too rough for their skin.
On the one hand, this is apparently how he's been kept for longer than the average fire-bellied toad is alive, so it probably isn't hurting him. But... I also want him to be as happy as I can make him, and if I can find some smoother, undyed rocks, I think I'd like to go with that instead. (Even though my last improvement idea got a 0/10 from the frog. For all I know, he's really attached to blue aquarium gravel.)
He did wake me up in the middle of the night twice the night before last with his "singing" so he can't be too miserable, lol.

My grandmother seems to be doing well, per the second-hand texts from Debby that my mom has been forwarding.

Today was a big grocery trip day. It was pretty dumb, because we went in with a list of maybe six things... and wound up with a full damn cart. Relatively little was really super impulsive, but just remembering shit that we keep forgetting to get, or noticing that a thing we buy anyway was on sale, or things like that. This should keep us through the end of the month, minus things like drinks or stuff that has to be purchased fresh.

I am trying (but will fail) to resist taking a nap. It's almost 6:00, and I will be consumed with regret when I wake up after dark and then can't get back to sleep... but right now, I really want a nap.

Heh! Nobody likes change at first, but I'm sure he'll grow to love any changes you make. *g*
I'm glad your grandmother is doing well.

I think that the plant is maybe being given an 8/10. I did stick it near his favorite spot, but he moves back and forth around it, and has used the plant's container as a resting point. So at least I'm one for two on my attempted improvements. ;)
And thank you, me too. Haven't heard any updates today, but I'm hoping no news is good news.

His "singing" sounds a little like barking, but tiny and adorable. I've tried videoing it a couple times, but often there's noise from the TV in the background. Eventually I'm sure I'll get a better copy.
