Belated zoo pics!

Sounds like the guy I mentioned in my last post is being fired tomorrow morning, so tomorrow will be my day of hell.

I'm pretty emphatically Not Feeling It, whatever it may be right now. But here are some pictures from our trip to the zoo a couple weeks ago! I narrowed it down to 15 so it wouldn't be too spammy. (Also, I have to get the links on my phone, and it takes forever.)

This little guy was outside the zoo, actually. But I love chickadees.

Bit of an unfortunate reflection, but a very close hyena! He came running down the hill in the enclosure and jumped up onto the little platform and just posed, ha.

Flamingos! Two kinds, even! I like the one with wings spread, and the ones on one foot being iconic.

This little tamarin was SO CUTE.

Sea lions sunbathing.

We skipped over a few areas to get to the "Tropical Discovery" building, which is where most of the reptiles and amphibians (and fish, plus a few other things) are. The rush wound up being unnecessary, but the timing was still great! The frogs, especially the various little poison dart frogs, were far more visible and active than usual!

White frogs!

Green frogs! (The one on the left looks like it'd be chocolate mint flavored. Do Not Eat.)

Blue frog!

(I had little toy frogs that looked like the green and blue dart frogs. They were named malachite and azurite, because even as a very small child I was multiple kinds of nerd.)

Lake Titicaca water frog! These guys are extremely extremely endangered, but the Denver Zoo is one of the places that has a breeding population. They're so weird looking, I love them.
This guy looks either like one of those bizarre fine-art/Renaissance art cats, or at the very least like it knows a secret that it's enjoying refusing to tell you.

Speaking of "looks like a reaction image"... I don't remember what this fish is called, but it looks like it's been cursed to know all the horrors of every dimension.

A smug-looking Komodo dragon! He's extra cool, because he was born through parthenogenesis! :D

Look at this really cool rattlesnake!

I'd never seen this type of lizard before. Look at his super weird tail—flat and kind of spiky. Apparently they will burrow face-in, and use that flat cap-shaped tail as a sort of plug on their burrow.

Zebra! We suspect she may be pregnant, because she looked... heavy.

And a very sleepy lion.
