Habit Tracking: Week 19 (May 09 - May 15)
This week gets some shiny rainbow stickers. (I have SO MANY of that kind, ha.) It looks like it's making happy eyes (^_^) lol, which I didn't consider before sticking them.
This week was kind of a difficult one. Not bad, really, but it felt very busy, and I had a lot of days in which I struggled with executive function and both my attention and my willpower to do things.
I wound up with a lot of extra goals/tasks for the week, and I did accomplish most of them:
- I replied with clarifications to my edits for chapter 7 of my friend's book
- I cleaned Broccoli Cheddar Bomb's habitat (post and pics from 5/16, but the cleaning was last week.)
- I did start to plan my mermay fic
- I celebrated Mother's Day with my mom
- I got more than 6000 words on All Strange Wonders
- I finished reading Fugitive Telemetry
- I did not do edits on Chapter 8 of my friend's book
- I did not finish my River of Teeth post (TBH, I think I probably will abandon my more in-depth review... I may just stick to a shorter post that doesn't try so hard to really review it.)
- I got together for breakfast with my dad
For my tracked habits:
- Work - 5/7, the usual
- Household Maintenance - 3/7, one fairly light
- Physical Activity - 0/7, oof
- Wrote 500/1000+ Words - 7/7, all over 1000 words!
- Meta Work - 7/7, still working through draft 2
- Personal Writing - 7/7
- Other Creative Things - 1/7
- Reading - 4/7, one fairly light; mostly this was Fugitive Telemetry, but some scattered fic
- Video Games - 0/7
- Social Activity - 7/7
I feel all right about that, and especially good about the work on my writing. Hitting 1000 words/day is great! I'm especially glad because I was pushing through a serious lack of motivation. (Though because this is a second draft, I am also able to autopilot a lot of the work, for better or worse, so it's not the same as pushing through on a draft 1.)
I didn't do great on everything else, though, especially physical activity. To be fair, again, it was a really busy week, and also rainy on most days. But still, I really want to start hiking or at least walking regularly, on my days off if nothing else.
Total words of fiction written: 7804 words on All Strange Wonders

Lovely habit tracker, love the colors. <3 I struggle with weekly tasks; they keep getting pushed aside in favor of things I need to do every day (or almost every day), and then I eventually notice that it's the next week (or month OTL) already. All the same I want to keep at it, and posts like this are inspiring, so thank you for sharing yours. :)

There's the joke out there that the real reason so many 20-30-somethings are obsessed with enamel pins is that they're like stickers without the commitment. ;)
Thank you! Weekly stuff is absolutely a thing I struggle with. I try to keep my habit tracking very positive, in that it's just a chance for me to see if I'm falling behind in things, or see what I may need to put more effort into. I'm *terrible* with out of sight/out of mind type things, so having it written down somewhere does a lot to help me not just... forget.

I hadn't heard about that enamel pin joke; if I had a collection I might still keep them stashed away in a box somewhere to avoid them getting scratched or lost lol.

My enamel pins are pinned to fabric hung on my wall, haha. (And some are awaiting a display.) Because yes, I *am* paranoid about losing them, haha.
