Good god, resizing photos takes forever!

We did actually get to go out and do things today! We visited Red Rocks park, the Morrison Cemetery, and the Mt. Vernon cemetery. It was really nice to enjoy the recent good weather and to go do something fun!

When we got back into town, Alex noticed this on his car's display:


We joked that maybe we should go buy a lottery ticket, haha.

And then we went to a Cuban restaurant that we'd been wanting to try. We split one meal, and it was quite a lot of food (though mid-range in price... too expensive for us to eat often, but certainly not outrageous.) We got saffron rice with chicken, plus plantains, which is their special for Saturdays. I loved all of it, though Alex didn't care for the plantains... so I ate his. :P It was awesome!

And now we have to run out the door.

Thanks! When and if we move back east, which is theoretically the goal, I'll miss places like this! Red Rocks is one of my favorite spots in the area.

That food...looks...amazing. Kass and I ate at a small Cuban restaurant in Corpus. I don't even know if it's still there, but it was awesome. We had sandwiches and they gave us little bags of plantain chips. Holy shit, I wanted to eat so many more of those chips. Mmmmm. I need to find some Cuban recipes. Yes. That's what I need to do.

It was awesome! It was $11 for the meal, and the bowl pictured is about half of it. I think it was pretty reasonably priced, and it was delicious! The rice especially was amazing, but the chicken was delicious too. It's a very small restaurant, and they have specials on different days because they make everything there... so they don't make every thing every day. I want to try the bread sometime, as they bake Cuban bread, and they also do deserts. We've been wanting to eat there for months, so I'm glad we finally did.

Do make Cuban stuff! I'm sure you'd do awesome with it.

I definitely need to look up Cuban dishes, especially ones with chicken or pork steaks. We don't eat a lot of pork chops or steaks, but sometimes we get hungry for them. Usually I make Asian dishes with pork steaks, but I'm willing to find some Cuban dishes to rock the kitchen with -- and guess who's never cooked Cuban before. Oh yeah.

That is an amazing price for all that food. And if they make everything there and fresh and different every day, that's awesome, too. If y'all eat there again, try something different and post more pics!
