Summary: In order to buy a political alliance that could get her officially crowned, Princess Kairi has to bring a partner on a diplomatic mission. Her fiancé, Sora, doesn't care for the spotlight, and is terrified of messing the opportunity up for her. So they enlist their best friend, Riku, who is much more suited to the social expectations of a future royal consort. While the three agree to rules intended to protect their relationships to each other, mutual attraction and affection are difficult to turn off. And it isn't long before the stakes for the diplomatic mission itself grow higher as well.

And this fic is finally, really, for real done! It's definitely a relief, because it was a struggle for a while. It also ultimately hit 41397 words, which is a fair bit longer than I'd intended. When I first started writing it, I'd hoped for 25000!

As I think I said before, this fic was not the usual kind of thing I write. It's still not my favorite type of story (having the relationship as the primary conflict), but I'm still glad I wrote it.

I think I'll celebrate with a semi-fancy chocolate bar (key lime white chocolate), haha.
