Another day that can go kick rocks. Another of those days where the owner of the company sent me 20+ additional tasks to follow up on (mostly those calltracker calls, but a few others too), despite the phones being batshit, and my center having a class close. And my manager left me a bunch of time-sensitive stuff to do this morning, because she didn't have time to finish things yesterday after a driver called out. And then there was a kid who showed up and wasn't on the roster, and a kid who needed testing accommodations, and online support calls coming in, and drivers being needy, and notes from the other support about things she hadn't finished... it was all hitting at once and I am super tired.
I fiddled with Broccoli Cheddar Bomb's habitat a bit, though now I'm second-guessing whether I should have... I mean, it's apparently served him well for 14 years, so I probably shouldn't have messed with success. But he just had a few rocks that stuck up over the waterline, and it looked a little sad. The species is mainly aquatic, and wants to be in the water almost all the time, but most of the things I read said that providing them some terrestrial space is good, and that given the opportunity they may burrow. So I bought a dish that I put some moss into, then settled it into the gravel of the larger habitat so it's level with the waterline, so that he has some "ground" to go to. (Also better for feeding.)
But now he's just freaked out and trying to climb the corners again. :/ Calm down Broccoli! I'm trying to give you enrichment!
He did the same last night, and settled down and was just chilling against his rocks this morning and today. (Blending in well enough that Alex said he was afraid he'd escaped!) So hopefully he relaxes again. If he does, he can have some crickets tomorrow.

LOL at the name you chose! This made me laugh, too: Calm down Broccoli! I'm trying to give you enrichment!
