Miscellaneous pet pics:
It's been a little bit. Have some pics of some creatures.

Bella yearns for apples.
(From back when I was trying to slowly work up to more solid food, ha.)

Bella watches the Westminster Dog Show.
(The American Kennel Club does not recognize the American Pit Bull Terrier as a breed, which is why Bella does her FastCAT and other titles under the "All American Dog" category. American Staffordshire Terrier is the closest to her breed.)

Majestic.

Cozy.

Berry Mad has turned her entire pond into her personal mud puddle.

Guava Splash!

Watching you.

Ripley the garter snake!

Ripley says :P

And Jaspurr! No one will out-comfy him.
In unrelated news, I did not dodge the cough. :( I hoped I was in the clear, because Alex was coughing by day three or four. After a week, I figured I was safe... but day nine? I think? brought the cough, which has only gotten worse today.
But in surgery recovery, the scabs and all their accompanying glue are finally gone! Incision sites are still quite tender, but seem to be healing up really well. I've had occasional twinges in my lower right abdomen (where my appendix was), but very slight and pretty infrequent, so nothing I'm too worried about.
Right now I really just wish the cold and accompanying cough would go away! I thought I was on the mend on Thursday, when I woke up still sick, but feeling much better than previous days... but alas, it was a false alarm, and I was back to crappy yesterday and today, but with extra cough! It's been kicking my ass, and I've been struggling to do much of anything the last several days. I'll try to get caught back up here as soon as I can.

Lol @ Bella - does she like apples for that matter? Ohmygoodness TEEFIES!!! <3
How have the ribbits been doing for that matter? Are they hibernating or stasis-ing at all yet?
SNEK!!! <3
And lol @ Jaspurr's comfy faceplant haha. That is the epitome of contented cozy. xD

She has fantastic teefies!
The ribbits have been doing well! No real hybernating. The toad has buried herself on and off, but not for longer than a couple days at a time, and often pretty shallowly. The tiny frog has just been living in the pond. I might someday try to redo that habitat to be more like 50/50 water/land, instead of the current 30 land/70 water, because I don't think he ever really uses much of the dry land.
I do love the snek! She's so cute.
Jaspurr manages to just constantly be SO COMFY at all times, haha.

She does have glorious teefies! <3
Glad to hear the ribbits are faring well and busy doing ribbit things! I wonder what her burrowing is about? Does she gorge herself then hide for a while afterward or is it totally unrelated? Dumb question perhaps but do either species of ribbit have land/water ratio requirements or preferences? How big has the little ribbit gotten since you acquired (him?) for that matter?
I am thoroughly impressed by his comfy haha.
...WTF - I missed a good chunk of your original post on my first read through. To more properly reply to everything else:
Bloody hell I'm sorry you didn't dodge the cough/respiratory blegh Alex's cold brought on. X_X I sincerely hope as of this commenting you're on the upswing of whatever plague ails you? If not, I hope you're able to rest and recommend peppermint tea (if that's your thing) to help with the cough. :(
Hearing your incisions and everything seem to be healing quite well is fantastic news though and I'm genuinely glad to hear it! I imagine the weird twinges will be a thing for a while but I hope they're fading quickly overall.

I do love her teefs.
I don't know why she burrows sometimes and not others. It seems unrelated to how much she eats, and the temperature and lighting are pretty consistent, so I haven't been able to figure it out!
I'm not completely certain of true land to water preference. Both species are typically found fairly near water, the chorus frog especially. The toad wants access to water, and enough to submerge in, but also wants dry areas that can be retreated to. (She also seems to love burrowing down at the base of her plant.) She also seems to want her dirt and water together: she either scoops her dirt into the pond until it's mud, or kicks the water out of the pond into the dirt to make different mud. Which she then sits in.
The littler frog is a bit more aquatic, and so I think I'll try giving them a bit more water than they currently do. (They're SO SMALL, that even the small pond is a lot of room, but they don't go onto the land basically at all, so more water seems like they'd enjoy it more.)
The previous ribbit, the fire-bellied toad, wanted almost entirely shallow water, with just a couple little "islands" to sit on.
Tiny frog hasn't really grown at all! Still just as teeny tiny as they were when I brought them home. Which is adorable! But I was hoping they'd grow just a liiiiittle bit, so I could feed them bigger food.
I think I'm certainly on the upswing from the current illness crud, but it's just frustratingly lingering. Tea and honey have definitely been a help!

Sorry about your cough! I hope it passes quickly!

Guava Splash is so much pointier than Berry Mad!
Ugh, so tired of the cough.

Ugh, I really hope the cough doesn't linger too long. *hugs* Glad to hear the surgical stuff is all healing up well, though!

I'm so tired of the cough! I hope it runs its course soon. Relieved that the surgery stuff all seems to be doing what it needs to.

Ugh, the cough is the worst. I just want it to be over with. It made its point, I got sick and was miserable with it, but I'd love for it to just move on! I'm really glad you're in a better house and don't have to worry about the crappy insulation and mice.
