The Valentine's Day freeze
Feb. 14th, 2021 08:38 pmHappy Valentine's Day to those who celebrate it, either with a partner, with partners, or alone. Or happy day-before-sale-candy day. *shrug*
I bought Alex some hobby stuff last week as an early gift, and a candy bar, lol. He got me a stuffed animal (actually it's a stuffed strawberry, so stuffed fruit) and some chocolate, so I'm happy, haha.

Today was as cold as anticipated, but we didn't have as much snow as predicted. But yuck, the wind chill advisory is now for temperatures as low as -40°, which is very much something I would be happy to do without.
Despite how tempting it was, I did NOT call out from work.
It was kind of a failure of a weekend at work, though. Phones were slow, so both call volume and sales were way lower than I'm supposed to aim for.
(Of course, the numbers we're given are literally impossible, which for me is extremely demotivating. "Oh, there are 10 of you working and an average total of 110 calls on Sunday? Well, you EACH need to answer at least 50 calls/day." Give me a fair goal, like "there are 10 of you, so please answer 10% of the calls" and I'll try super hard. Ask me to do something impossible and I don't want to try at all.)
Tomorrow is a class close, so calling out tomorrow would be extra shitty. But unfortunately I'm not really feeling any better. I'm hoping it's still just weather pressure change stuff, but I spent most of the day feeling like I could just lay my head down and take a nap.
I think I'll probably call it an early night.
