Feb. 25th, 2021 08:20 pmHad a great time hanging out with Taylor!
The morning started off a little rough, though not for me. Alex had a doctor's appointment early, and last night he'd decided not to go because of the snow. But around 8:00 he got up, and said he was going to try to go in anyway.
Around 8:30 or so he texted me that he was stuck on the road. He was in the center lane, so couldn't pull over to the side or bail into a parking lot or anything, he was just stuck. He was afraid he was going to get hit, and couldn't get out of the truck to even try and clear the wheels. There was also a semi-truck stuck there, and the driver got out and helped push Alex out and get him to a shopping center where he was at least not in the road!
He called the office where his appointment was, since he'd missed his appointment by that time. They told him most of their patients had cancelled, so if he was able to come in later, they'd try to fit him in.
He spent about an hour and a half in the parking lot, just hanging out and waiting for the roads to clear. It didn't get above freezing, but the sun still melted it pretty well. And then he was able to get the appointment over with and made it back to the apartment safely.
Taylor and I just hung out on voice chat for most of the day. We watched two episodes of The Umbrella Academy, they played through a few more hours of Okami, and we listened to four more episodes of The Magnus Archives. I miss getting to see them in person, but it was nice to get to still spend the day "together."
Trying to gauge my motivation levels. I should try to get a layer of whites onto my horse, or try to get some writing done, or something else to check off the list... But at the same time, I'd already kind of marked the day as a day off from anything responsible, lol. So part of me also thinks a bubble bath and reading some more of River of Teeth sounds like about all I want to do, haha.
