Woof. I think I'm finally caught up on DW after my long weekend of flaking!

It's going to be at least one more day before I have a chance to fix up some pictures for sharing - I do have some from my hike with Taylor. I know I posted pics from there just a month or so ago, but it was still fun, and got some good pics.

Even just one day of work has me completely ready to be done. It was ANOTHER day of rescheduling, getting a driver off of one of my manager's other center's schedules. He left with very little notice, paired with a very overly-flowery letter about how much he loved all of us and the company... but he was no great loss. There've been a bunch of issues with him, and a formal meeting was upcoming anyway (which he knew about, so I feel like this was a cut-and-run). But still, it was six weeks worth of the schedule to move around, mostly requiring getting people to move to other locations, yuck. To be fair, someone else started on that whole thing yesterday, so I didn't have to do the whole six weeks this time!

Trying to nail down our 4th of July plans. I'm... not really the patriotic sort, which may be a surprise to very few people. BUT I do like fireworks, and it's also Alex's and my anniversary. 12 years, this year! (And longer as friends, from back when we met on LJ. But the 4th of July 12 years ago was when we first had the "hey, so we live across the country from each other, but I think I might kinda *like* you like you?" conversation.)

A lot of our local displays (including the one we usually go to when we're here, and the one that's geographically closest) are happening on the night of the 3rd. But I work on the 3rd, so it seems likely we'll have a hard time getting somewhere before it gets crowded. And then we'll probably pick something to go to on the 4th, which I do have off. Our "tradition" for the day mostly consists of me making a BOMB ASS fruit salad, lol. Nary an unripe melon chunk or flavorless grape in sight. Peaches, nectarines, cherries, mangoes, various berries, bananas, mandarin oranges... all the *best* fruits, lol.

The long weekend will be much appreciated.

I'm still struggling with my "weekend" being at the start of the week... by the time I've even set my goals for the week, I'm out of days to work on anything, and am thrown into my work week. I *could* start tracking things on a different schedule, since doing tracking with a Sunday-Saturday week is a fake rule. But I'm also keeping track of week numbers, and that would throw it off. I should also do another assessment of what's keeping me from doing things after work - I tend to feel like by the time I get home, eat dinner (which Alex makes, so that isn't a time sink), post to DW... I'm out of time and ready to go to bed. May need to sort out what's making my time seem to vanish like that. (It's probably me getting side-tracked on my phone.)

ALSO ALSO trying to decide if I'm doing Camp NaNo for July. I really oversold myself on writing for May and June (or just shot myself in the foot by procrastinating too much.) But Camp NaNo DID help me get my fic edited in April, and having that month-long wordcount tracker is super motivating for me.
Part of me wants to take a bit of time off. Part of me thinks that setting a goal to get more of both Step Right Up and Connections of the Heart done would be helpful! If everything was perfect and great, I'd get both fics done this month, though a more realistic goal is that I'd like to either get one of them finished, or I'd like to get at least one more chapter of each written, fixed up, and posted.

Still deciding what I want to commit to, haha
