Jul. 3rd, 2021 07:21 pmHaving a three-day weekend kind of snuck up on me, but I am extremely not unhappy about it.
Today was kind of a massive headache at work, though mostly of the "this is WAY too much to do in way too little time" variety, which is better than the "disaster" type.
We were thinking about trying to go see fireworks tonight, since so many of the local shows are happening tonight instead of tomorrow. But... I think we kind of decided to wimp out on that plan. Two nights in a row of fireworks + crowds + the hours-long struggle to get home from wherever we parked sounds like less fun than it's worth, lol. We may have a pretty good view of the closest ones from our apartment - we'll see!
I did join Camp NaNo for July, though with the low monthly goal of 20k words. That's only 645/day. I'm hoping to get 20k combined on Connections of the Heart and Step Right Up, which should be enough to either finish one and get a bit of progress on the other, or at least get another chapter+ done on each.
645 feels like SUCH a low daily goal, but it was still a struggle for me to get to. :/ It's not that I'm unmotivated, even, I just... can't make words happen that I'm happy with. So I'm trying to embrace the "shitty first draft" advice, and just make words happen, whether I like them or not. I can always edit them later!
