The ~*Fancy*~ Dog Park
Aug. 28th, 2021 07:41 pmSo, having abandoned Cy all day yesterday, we decided that today we'd do something to include him, lol.
It's over an hour drive, but in Colorado Springs, there's an extremely nice dog park. It was voted among the top ten in the nation at one point.
It is very nice - it's got a lovely section of creek, with lots of pleasant shade. There's a walking trail as well, plus a fenced-in agility area. It's 25 acres total, I think, which means there's plenty of space even when there are lots of dogs.
Cy absolutely wore himself out, lol.

Cy, trotting through the creek.

A pair of garter snakes in a tree along the water!
We also found a set of tags down by the creek... somewhat surprisingly belonging to someone in another city much closer to our apartment than to the park! I texted the number on the tags, and I'm going to mail them to the lady whose dog lost them, just because that'll be easier than trying to meet up. But I'm glad to have found them for her!

This week has been extremely nice, not having to be at work. I have a couple days left, but it still feels like it's gone far too fast!
I still haven't done any writing, which was one of the things I'd hoped to really get back to with the time off. I sort of feel all right about that, because I've enjoyed the time, and getting to relax was absolutely the main thing I wanted to do. But at the same time... this really has been my biggest/only stretch of time free from work, so I definitely meant to do more. Oh well.
Perhaps I will get a second wind tonight, though largely I've been pretty tired after we do our Thing for the day, and today is not an exception. I blame the heat.
