Annoying day
Sep. 2nd, 2021 08:51 pmWell, Alex cleaned up a lot of stuff today, with the goal of fixing whatever imagined issues the apartment manager notified us about.
I'm a little worried that he may have gotten rid of some stuff that he didn't want to, though. :/ I hope not, because I never wanted him to get rid of anything he'll regret losing.
I'd intended that we get clarification from management before we did anything, but he already moved a lot of stuff out of sight. It does look visually neater, though again, it was *clutter*, not anything dirty in a way that could create problems. And things like the laundry need to get done anyway... I'm just annoyed by the principle of it all, I think, and the fact that their complaints weren't accurate.
Extra frustration of the day: my card wouldn't go through when Alex tried to get a money order for our rent, and then also declined on another purchase.
Everything looked okay on the account, but I called the bank... and yes, they'd frozen my card, because they suspected fraud when he tried to get the rent check. Apparently there's been a lot of fraud at our local supermarket chain, so it flagged as suspicious.
I appreciate that they look for stuff like that, but... we also have a history of buying a money order of roughly the same amount every month around this time, ugh.
(And yet they did not flag the time someone fraudulently used my card to buy $500 worth of gas at four different stations in a neighboring city?)
