Sep. 26th, 2021 08:11 pmLess of a headache of a day than anticipated, but also not not a headache of a day. (Class closes are always a pain, more so when the class already has more students than we have space for, and extras keep showing up.) It all got dealt with, and everyone passed their tests, so it's fine. I was only there about 40 minutes late, bleh.
This is my "Friday" night, so I have the endless vista of my weekend before me, which isn't a bad feeling, even though I'm not doing anything at the moment. I AM actually looking forward to a weekend where I don't have anything that's planned.
Of course, I always have good intentions (usually writing related, but maybe cleaning, or reading, etc) with that time, and it rarely gets done. But maybe I'll actually catch up on enough sleep to feel almost rested, and I would LOVE to finish the current chapter of the WIP I'm struggling with. (After which, I think there will only be two more chapters.) Chapters 2 and beyond will *definitely* need a rewrite/editing pass, but I don't intend to take that step too seriously for this one. Just enough to fix up the areas that bothered me so that I can post it.
I've also got the third and final chapter of Step Right Up to post. It would also benefit from a second draft, though, and I'm a little afraid of losing what little momentum I have on the current WIP if I interrupt it, ha.
Perhaps I will *gasp* Play A Video Game. Or maybe just try to get some reading done: I'm more than halfway through The Last Sun, and enjoying it. But Under the Whispering Door and When Sorrows Come are also sitting on my bedside table, taunting me. (And I want to finish The Only Good Indians, but that's our long drive read-aloud book, lol.)
And I want to watch Midnight Mass (Mike Flanagan has directed a lot of the horror stuff I've enjoyed in the last several years, which I did not realize until I looked him up when we watched Bly Manor last year.) And so far most of the people I know who've watched it enjoyed it.
For now... gonna try to struggle through 100 words of my WIP, and then maybe for real this time go to bed early.
