Oct. 9th, 2021 06:41 pmI am so ready for the week to be over. Not because of anything bad, I'm just tired as hell, lol. But tomorrow is a class close, so that's going to be a long day, alas.
Writing has been going well this week. Per my ambitious October writing plan, I'd hoped to get the second draft of chapter two of Connections of the Heart ready for posting this week. I'm not quite there, but I should be able to finish up the chapter tonight, and hopefully get it posted tomorrow! I have written (with the caveat that this is rewriting) at least 500 words each day, which hasn't been the case for a while.
Man, I like writing second drafts better than first drafts, haha. (With the additional caveat that I use second drafts to improve description and dialogue, add detail, fix any weird bits that I didn't care for, etc. I enjoy already knowing pretty much right where it's all going, and just making sure it sounds all right and isn't too confusing. It's more than a SPAG edit, and I do actually rewrite the whole thing, and add some scenes or change around the dialogue and such. But I'm not doing hardcore "kill all your darlings" drafts, because this is purely a hobby, and I'd probably not enjoy that kind of editing quite so much.)
If I get this chapter done tonight and posted tomorrow, then that does only give me two-three days to get the last chapter of Step Right Up done and posted, if I want to stay on schedule for Tuesday. Though tbh, Tuesday is arbitrary - it's just my second day off, so I've got time to work on fixing formatting errors and such, which is often a minor project.
Even if I am just slightly "behind", it's not insurmountably so, and I feel pretty good about it.
So far, at least. We'll see how I feel once I'm at the "outline a thing and then write it" and the "outline a thing to write for NaNo" stages.
