New month, slightly updated goals...

January - March
Completed two drafts of my WIP "Connections of the Heart", and began posting the new chapters.

April - June
Completed the rough draft and second draft of "Island Territory", and got all five chapters posted.

Looking back at last month:

July
Camp NaNo - rewriting my Silent Hill fic "Outbreak" with a goal of 25k for the month (~807 words/day), though hoping for more. And I did do more! I hit just over 37000 words, which was better than I expected!
05 - post Chapter 1 of ASW Posted as planned on July 05
19 - post Chapter 2 of ASW Posted as planned on July 19

July went well. Even while we were out of town (which only wound up being a few days), I was able to keep up on writing. I'd been concerned about over-committing on my goal, but I did well despite the worry, and probably shouldn't have been as worried about it as I was.

Going forward...

August
I plan to finish the new draft of Outbreak. My progress in July was good enough that finishing it shouldn't be a problem. Ideally, I'd love to be done by about halfway through the month.
After that, I hope to outline the fic I'll be writing for the Set Sail zine. While ideas aren't due until September and the actual outline isn't due until October, I'd deeply prefer to be ahead.

September
I'm hoping to write my rough draft of the Set Sail fic.
I don't know exactly how long it will be, so I may also have a chance to do something else... but I'll have to wait and see how that shakes out.
At some point I'll have to make a cover for Outbreak.
13 - post Chapter 6 of ASW
24 - finalized idea for Set Sail fic due
27 - post Chapter 7 of ASW

October
Tentatively, I'd like to maybe try to work on that Alice Isn't Dead x Sparrow Hill Road crossover that I've been thinking about on and off for a couple years. I'll have to do some relistening/rereading, though.
I'd also like to get the first third of the Set Sail piece completed. This isn't due until a check-in in November, however that falls during NaNoWriMo, so I'd rather have it done before that!
04 - post Chapter 1 of Outbreak
11 - post Chapter 8 of ASW
18 - post Chapter 2 of Outbreak
22 - Check-In #1 for Set Sail - Outline/Summary due
25 - post Chapter 9 of ASW

November
I need to decide on a project for NaNoWriMo. Currently I'm either leaning toward trying to get 50k of something original written, or to get 50k of the Worldhopping Fairytale Monstrosity written. We'll see how I feel getting closer to the date, though right now WFM is winning out, just because it'll be so fucking long, having something pushing me to get 50k farther sounds helpful.

There's part of me that is second-guessing starting to post Outbreak in October, and I'm not sure why! Maybe I feel like posting two (extremely different) ongoing fics at the same time is weird? Part of me feels like hey, waiting to post it means I could have an even LONGER window during which I would have things to post...
But I wanted to start posting it in October for a reason - I don't think anyone really reads Silent Hill fic, haha, but IF someone was going to, they might choose to do so in spooky season.

It also seems very possible that I'm still just nervous about sharing it. I do think it's likely to get very few eyeballs on it, and I don't know if that's the kind of thing that will be more disappointing to me than I anticipate. I'm pretty good at not caring about numbers, and while nothing I write is even remotely popular, it at least gets SOME hits and kudos and such. (Even if barely double-digits.) Will having something that doesn't even get hits be more discouraging than I think? OR, worse, is it going to get a few hits and be hated by everyone who clicks because the subject of a dangerous illness is still too soon (even though it was written pre-covid and not intended to be covid in any way.) I'm borrowing trouble, but I also know that all of the above COULD be impacting that "maybe you should wait" feeling, ha.

Still, for now that's my tentative plan, though as always subject to change.
