Misc things on the day:

Went to my old coworker's husband's funeral. It was quick - a military funeral, so it's a pretty rapid process. I never met the man, but I'm glad I went and got to see her, if briefly. There was a reception after, but the coworker and I who went had to get back to work.

We had wind gusts in the region up to 90 miles per hour. Too much! I had to keep the office door locked most of the day because the wind was so strong and flinging it open. Lots of overturned semis shutting roads down, fallen branches, etc.

There's a fire pretty close by. Several neighborhoods on pre-evac orders. Hopefully they'll get it under control pretty quickly, but with winds like that, any fire is especially scary. The winds have died down a bit, so hopefully that will help.

It was just in general a mildly rough day. Time to watch some documentary about a cult and maybe take a really hot bath for a while.
